Sullivan County Natural Resources is seeking a Sustainability Educator to lead environmental education and outreach efforts that connect people with their local food systems, natural resources, and communities.

This dynamic position is ideal for someone passionate about place-based education, regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, and ecological literacy. The Sustainability Educator will work closely with schools, educators, community organizations, and volunteers to develop engaging educational programs while also supporting conservation projects, public outreach, workshops, and grant initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with K–12 schools, teachers, and SAUs to deliver place-based learning opportunities.
  • Developing and presenting programs focused on regenerative agriculture, energy, and ecological systems.
  • Helping maintain the Sullivan County Eco-Ag Center and education hub.
  • Coordinating outreach, workshops, conservation projects, and grant activities.
  • Representing Sullivan County as a member of the Upper Valley Teaching Place Collaborative (UVTPC) to strengthen regional partnerships and environmental education initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in environmental education, environmental science, natural resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience), along with strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Experience working with students, educators, and community partners is highly desirable.
