A Gentle Pathway into Winter Birding
Winter is a great time to start a schoolyard bird study. Whether you’re an experienced birder or a novice, you’ll come away from this workshop with the confidence that you can help your students discover the fascinating world of local birds. We’ll explore numerous ways to launch and sustain a winter schoolyard bird study and share plenty of resources and activities, including setting up a bird feeding station, simple identification techniques, and schoolyard habitat mapping. For teachers of all grade levels.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harris Center. Cost: $120. Space is limited to 20 attendees, and registration is required by November 20. For more information, including questions about accessibility, contact Jaime Hutchinson at hutchinson@harriscenter.org.
