Midday Meetup: From Problems to Possibilities: Empowering Students with the Solutionary Framework
Join New Hampshire Environmental Educators (NHEE) for our Midday Meetup: Guest Speaker Program!
Bring your lunch and join Aubrey Nelson, Professional Learning Lead, Energy Educator, and Action Project Advisor with VEEP/NHEEP, to explore how the Solutionary Framework can help students move beyond learning about environmental challenges to becoming part of the solution!
Developed by the Institute for Humane Education, the Solutionary Framework offers a practical approach to helping students investigate real-world problems, think critically, and develop meaningful solutions that benefit their communities and the environment.
During this interactive, one-hour conversation, Aubrey will introduce the framework, share examples of how it can be applied to environmental education, and explore ways to elevate student voice, choice, and action—without reinventing your curriculum!
Whether you’re a classroom teacher, environmental educator, or community program leader, come discover how solutionary thinking can build on the work you’re already doing and inspire students to make a positive difference.
Come curious, ready to connect, and inspired to turn environmental learning into meaningful action!
👉 Please note: Midday Meetups alternate between informal office hours like this one and more traditional guest-speaker programs focused on timely topics.
This event is free for NHEE members. A suggested donation of $5 is appreciated from non-members. Your support helps us keep NHEE programs and events accessible to all. Click here to learn more about NHEE membership.
💬 About Midday Meetups:
Midday Meetups are NHEE’s monthly virtual series, inspired by our friends at the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association (RIEEA) and their popular Lunch & Learns. NHEE’s Midday Meetups are held on the second Wednesday of each month from 12:00–1:00 PM, the series alternates between open office hours for connection and idea sharing, and structured sessions with guest speakers on timely topics—from curriculum connections to community collaborations to equity in education.
