Nature Journaling with Heidi Colburn, Certified Nature Journal Educator
Nature Journaling is a great way to spark curiosity and deepen your connection with nature using just a pen, pencil, and notebook. This event is designed for both formal and informal educators to explore how to incorporate nature journaling into lessons and programs. In the first half, you’ll practice nature journaling as a student, creating your own journal page. In the second half, you’ll shift to the educator role, learning practical tips for guiding students in nature journaling. Space is limited to 20 participants.

Educators Set Sail

Educators Set Sail with Amanda Komarek, Gundalow Company Program Manager
Enjoy a relaxing sail through Portsmouth’s historic harbor. Spend 1.5 hours along the Piscataqua River sailing past forts, lighthouses, the Naval Shipyard and prison and learn about the cultural and natural history of the region from the best vantage point the city has to offer! You are welcome to bring a picnic and beverages of your choice on this sail. Space is limited to 40 participants.

Water Bugs

Water Bugs with Kayla Croteau, NH Fish and Game Watershed Education Specialist
Get your hands (and feet) wet exploring a NH stream. Discover what crawls along underneath the rocks and debris in our local waterbodies. Bring your rain boots or water shoes and collect macroinvertebrates with the guidance of a Watershed Education Specialist. Learn about the invertebrates you find and what it means for the health of the water! Limited to 15 participants.
