Congratulations to Dr. Jocelyn Fraga Muller!

We are excited to celebrate Dr. Jocelyn Fraga Muller (aka Dr. Joy), the 2025 NHEE Environmental Educator of the Year! Dr. Joy teaches Biology, Physical Science, AP Bio, and AP Environmental Science at Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, NH, where she has made a lasting impact on over 100 students each year for the past 15 years.

Dr. Joy is a true leader in environmental education, bringing hands-on, real-world learning to her students by regularly taking them outside to connect with nature and apply the science they study. Whether through projects like the alternative energy “town council” or cross-curricular collaborations with English and PE teachers, Dr. Joy fosters a learning environment where students gain not only knowledge but the skills to take action for the planet.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Joy’s influence extends to her leadership in the district, where she promotes environmental education and sustainability initiatives. She has guided students to victory in the NH Envirothon and continues to mentor them in environmental action through after-school clubs and activities.

Her dedication to making environmental education inclusive and accessible for all students is unwavering, ensuring everyone, regardless of ability, has the chance to learn and grow through outdoor experiences. Dr. Joy’s commitment to nurturing both lifelong learners and future environmental stewards is truly inspiring.
