NHEE is proud to join Granite Outdoor Alliance in celebrating 150 years of the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), an NHEE Organizational Member!
For 150 years, AMC has been connecting people with the outdoors, protecting natural spaces, and inspiring environmental stewardship.
We especially appreciate AMC’s commitment to environmental education and expanding access to outdoor experiences. Through programs like A Mountain Classroom, which has been serving students since 1971, AMC helps young people build environmental literacy, develop leadership skills, and create lasting connections with the natural world through hands-on outdoor learning.
As highlighted in this article from Granite Outdoor Alliance, AMC continues to build on its legacy through innovation, sustainability, and making the outdoors more accessible to all.
Congratulations to AMC on 150 years of impact! Here’s to many more! 💚
