Get Growing! Gardening Workshop for Educators (Northfield, NH)

Get Growing! Gardening workshops are workshops intended to both give educators some background in what plants are and how they grow, how to manage them, and lessons you can use in your classroom with your students.  Offered by NH Ag in the Classroom state coordinator/4-H Community Agriculture guru Mike Smith, a 23-year veteran of the high school science classroom teaching Horticulture, educators will get a soup-to-nuts education on growing for the classroom.  Starting with what a plant to soils to nutrients, pruning, and garden planning and care, this action-packed four hours will happen two different times at two different locations.  The first opportunity is May 9th at Southwick School in Northfield, and the second is July 7th at 36 Fairbanks Road in New Ipswich.  This will be a hands-on, minds-on presentation, so leave the fancy clothes at home.  Both workshops begin at 9 am and will run until 1 pm.  PD hours will be available.
