Registration Open for Camp Pemigewassett’s Nature Instruction Training Clinic
Camp Pemigewassett’s Nature Instruction Training Clinic is back for its 28th session. Instructors are trained to create their own place-based lessons and activities using the natural resources at their own facility. The clinic is 5 ½ days long (June 9-14) in residence at Camp Pemigewassett (www.camppemi.com ) in Wentworth, NH and is limited to 14 participants.
The cost is $385 which includes room and board, all course materials (including big binder and a thumb drive full of lesson plans and ideas), and free “forever” consulting with the clinic leaders.
Two scholarships are available for a participant from a non-profit that provides programs for underserved groups.
Pemi operates this at cost in the interest of getting more kids out and exploring.
Here's what a participant from last year had to say:
"It was the highlight of my year. And no, I'm not being dramatic. I never went to camp growing up, so it was extra special to be away for an entire week with like-minded people. I was also blown away by the organization and thought behind all of the training. Everything fit together, and one of the biggest take-aways for me was that I completely re-vamped my own staff training and cannot wait to implement it this year. Truely, I felt so welcomed & inspired by you, Deb, and Russ.
We rocked camp last year. Quotes I got from the kids:
- "I can't eat lunch!!! I love nature too much!!"
- "I thought hiking would be boring! This is awesome!"
- "Wow. Rocks. Who knew.""
