NHEE Field Trip Series: Gathering Ideas Across the Granite State
August-October 2021 join fellow environmental educators and teachers at locations across the Granite State to glean new ideas to inspire your work. This is a wonderful way to network and meet others who are passionate about environmental education.

CT River Whitewater Paddle
Join experienced Kroka instructors for a day of moderate whitewater paddling on the Connecticut River. We’ll learn (or review) basic whitewater paddle strokes and maneuvers in tandem and solo canoes, discuss whitewater risk management techniques, and explore the human and natural history of the Upper Connecticut River Valley.
Location: Meet at the Kroka Farm in Marlow, NH.
About the Leader: Dave started his career as an outdoor educator at age 17, facilitating a high ropes course near Philadelphia. He has worked in the Adirondacks as a summer camp director, university outdoor program administrator, and director of an outdoor education center. More recently, Dave worked for the National Outdoor Leadership School for 12 years, splitting his time between the classroom and the field. He has led more than 125 NOLS courses, ranging from Backpacking, Climbing, Canyons, and Winter courses to WFAs, WFRs, WAFAs, WEMTs, and instructor trainings. Dave joined Kroka in September of 2020, where he focuses on backcountry skiing, whitewater paddling, and chopping lots of firewood.
Registration Required: $10/NHEE members and $20/non-members (All canoeing equipment will be provided. Max 12 participants.)
