Forests of New Hampshire Teacher Tour
Project Learning Tree
NH Project Learning Tree and the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association are joining forces to co-host an exciting new program for teachers in the summer of 2020. Sponsored in part by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, we are pleased to announce the “Forests of New Hampshire Teacher Tour.” PLT’s nationally acclaimed pre-K through high school environmental education curriculum is the framework for learning more about the importance of New Hampshire Forests. The tour will combine math, science, technology, art, language arts and social studies with current information about forest practices, up-to-date technology, and research into new products. All participants will complete a PLT workshop that includes training in curriculum materials with links to STEM and NGSS, and will be eligible for certification of 30 contact hours. The tour will begin at 1:00pm on July 21 and end at 11:00am on July 24, 2020. Home base and lodging for the conference will be at the AMC’s Joe Dodge Lodge in Pinkham Notch. We will be visiting a sawmill, an experimental forest, a community forest and an active timber harvesting operation with PLT facilitators and expert guides and guests on an air-conditioned tour bus. Visit our website, or call the office for details and to pre-register. Space is limited.
