October 5th Explore with a Naturalist: Experimental Forest Tour at Hubbard Brook
Join Brendan Leonardi, Hubbard Brook Research Foundation Program and Education Manager in North Woodstock for an Experimental Forest Tour.
Visit Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (HBEF) to learn more about the extensive history of forest ecosystem research that has been conducted continuously since 1955, making HBEF one of the longest running and most comprehensive ecosystem studies in the entire world. Learn about how the combination of long term monitoring and ecological experiments helps us build fundamental understanding of forest ecosystems. On this tour we will discuss various topics, including: how forests are monitored and measured, ongoing research themes and experiments, climate trends and threats, and the value of forests for human society. Space is limited to 16 people.
