Free Special Back To School Virtual Event on 7/28/2024!
This Virtual Documentary Night, in honor of Back To School Month, is in collaboration with the Environmental Education Alliance (EEA) and Wilderness Works. EEA supports, amplifies, and champions educators who leverage the power of environmental and outdoor learning so students can be engaged in meaningful learning experiences that include opportunities to solve real-world environmental challenges. Wilderness Works is a nonprofit that has provided year-round enrichment, experiential education, and character development since 1997, serving homeless, at-risk, and very vulnerable children.
FILM DESCRIPTION: No classroom for these kindergarteners. In Switzerland’s Langnau am Albis, a suburb of Zurich, children 4 to 7 years of age go to kindergarten in the woods every day, no matter what the weather. This eye-opening film follows the forest kindergarten through the seasons of one school year and looks into the important question of what it is that children need at that age. There is laughter, beauty and amazement in the process of finding out.
