DESCRIPTION:Cruise with a Naturalist for Educators – October 4th\nDesigned especially for educators, this unique field experience invites you to explore the beauty and ecology of Squam Lake aboard a guided naturalist cruise. Join Squam Lakes Natural Science Center for a memorable 90-minute journey across one of New Hampshire’s most iconic lakes while discovering the rich natural history that makes Squam so special.\nNew Hampshire is famous for its picturesque lakes and mountains, and Squam Lake is a gem among many. Experience its amazingly clear waters, rocky shores, celebrated islands, historic homes, scenic mountain views, and remarkable wildlife.\nLed by an experienced naturalist, participants will learn about the ecology and history of Squam Lake while watching for Common Loons, Bald Eagles, and other wildlife. Cruise routes are selected to maximize wildlife observations—meaning every trip offers something new to discover.\nThis experience highlights the power of place-based outdoor learning and offers inspiration for helping students connect with local ecosystems through observation, inquiry, and exploration.\nParticipants will earn 2 hours of professional development.\nDate: Sunday, October 4\n Time: 2:00 – 4:00 PM\n Cost:\n • $25 NHEE Members\n • $42 NHEE Member Doubles Discount (Bring a friend or colleague and save $8 – your guest does not have to be an NHEE member.)\n • $60 Not Yet Members (includes a one-year NHEE membership)\nSpace is limited to 20 participants.\nThe price also includes trail admission.
