Practicum Projects with NHEE:
New Hampshire Environmental Educators

New Hampshire Environmental Educators (NHEE) is the professional organization for people working in environmental education within NH. The NHEE mission is to advocate for high quality EE in the state and provide environmental educators with a forum for networking and professional development. It is part of the umbrella group, New England Environmental Education Alliance (NEEEA) which hosts annual conferences around the six New England states, and is an affiliate of the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE).

The Board of Directors of NHEE recently developed a strategic communication plan with the goals of reaching out to members, potential members and the public. Implementing this plan requires time, skill and involvement beyond the current capacity of the volunteer board. NHEE is seeking interns and volunteers to assist with implementation of this plan and to help NHEE promote the important work of environmental education in NH and the New England region.

Potential projects/duties include:

• Develop outreach opportunities to new and potential members, including college and graduate students, teachers, recreational organizations, community groups, etc.
• Update the NHEE website
• Develop a new membership recruitment brochure.
• Develop a traveling exhibit to take to conferences, workshops and professional gatherings to educate about the mission of NHEE.
• Create and/or implement public service announcements via local and regional media outlets.
• Develop a presentation to take to groups (conservation commissions, camp directors, teacher conferences, etc.) to open doors to new partnerships and educational opportunities.
• Assist with annual NHEE conference planning
• Assist with 2008 NEEEA Conference to be hosted by NHEE, October 3-5, 2008 at the Sargent Center in Peterborough!
